International Snow Sculpture Championships

Teams from around the world compete in this annual eye-pleasing event, creating mammoth works of art from 12-feet tall, 20-ton blocks of snow. The sculptors work during the week, reshaping the bounty of Mother Nature into freeform whimsy or spellbinding intricacy. Well-known artists act as judges for the event, which has brought sculptors from as far away as Morocco, Belize, Japan, Canada, Scandinavia, Russia, China and Wales.

2010 International Snow Sculpture Championships, Breckenridge		The 20th annual International Snow Sculpture Championships held in Breckenridge each year brought world class art to the center of town for the half the month of January.  It was a fantastic show!  Lithuania's sculpture won the Gold Medal, Canada Ontario, the Silver and Mexico the Bronze. Artist Choice went to Wisconsin and Peoples Choice went to Alaska.  >> Sound and Sculpture Video
2009 International Snow Sculpture Championships		The 2009 International Snow Sculpture Champioinships held in Breckenridge was a smashing success by any measure.  There were 15 sculptures done by artists from the farthest reaches of the globe.  China, Bulgaria, Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, USA, Canada and Mexico.  Artists were forced to deal with warm temperatures throughout the competition.
